HoHo's Take the South: Part V - Beaufort and Back Home
Monday, October 23rd:
We started the day at another local gem: Paris Baguette. We ate the food so fast we almost didn't get a picture!
After breakfast we headed to Habersham, which is an adorable little town close to Beaufort. We went to the marketplace, but all of the shops were closed, but the town was really cute so we drove around.
We then drove over to the Spanish Moss Trail and went for a little walk.
Next, we drove out to Hunting Island where we saw a huge lighthouse and a beautiful beach!

We left Hunting Island and headed into downtown Beaufort for some ice cream and a horse drawn carriage ride.
Beaufort is not very walkable, so I'm glad we went on the carriage ride so we could see all the old houses.
After the carriage ride we went to sit in Waterfront Park while we waited for our dinner restaurant to open. While we were enjoying the view we were approached by a crazy lady that wanted to tell us about chem trails. I told her to leave us alone. It was kinda annoying. Oh well! We had dinner at Saltus and everything was fantastic!
After dinner we went back to the Waterfront Park and took pictures of the sunset. It was beautiful!

After the sun went down we drove back to Paris Baguette on Hilton Head to get desserts!

Tuesday, October 24th:
The next morning Emily and Katey went back to the beach for one last sunrise (I slept in). We then packed and headed to the airport to fly home.
This trip was so perfect for us! Katey loves the beach (and crab cakes), Emily loves sunrises, and I love travel and history! Thanks Emily and Katey for flying all the way to the east coast so we could have our girls trip! I miss you guys already!
And thanks to Josh and his family (see next post) for hanging out with Theo while I was gone!

HoHo's Take the South: Part IV - Savannah
Sunday, October 22nd:
We got up early the next morning so we could watch the sunrise on the beach. There were just a few clouds along the horizon, which made the sunrise beautiful!
After the sunrise we walked back to the condo, got ready, and drove to Savannah. Our first stop was the Bonaventure Cemetery for a two hour walking tour. Our tour guide told us the history of the cemetery and he pointed out all the stylistic designs on the headstones and their significance.

After our stroll through the cemetery we headed into Savannah. Our first stop was the Maple Street Biscuit Company.

We then went on the Old Town Trolly Tour. It was a great way to see the city and learn some history.
After the Old Town Trolly Tour we went to the Peach Cobbler Factory for a snack.
They had a huge variety of cobblers. I got the classic peach cobbler and it was delicious!
Next, we went on a walk through a bunch of the squares all the way down to Forsyth Park.
Our favorite area was Jones St. This street was beautiful and every house was perfect!

After our walk we headed back to River Street to get some dinner at Tubby's. We sat on their large outdoor balcony which overlooks the Savannah River.
We got crab cakes (of course) and a boil with crab, shrimp, corn, grits, and sausage.

After dinner we did our walk for Theo and the other VOGM warriors.
Our final stop was at Clary's Cafe where we started our two hour walking Ghost Tour! We had so much fun looking at the cool old buildings and hearing paranormal stories from our tour guide.

After the Ghost Tour we made the hour drive back to Hilton Head. Savannah is such a cool city with a fascinating history! I'd love to come back someday!
