Utah Trip - Part I: Friends

I booked a large house in Vineyard from October 11th to October 17th. On Saturday (October 12th) night Katey, Emily, and I hosted a Girls Night. We had a Charcuterie Board from Graze Craze and Katey prepared a veggie tray so we could eat BYU Creamery Ranch 😋!

We invited old college roommates and friends to join us. Missy was in Utah at the same time visiting one of her friends who lives up in SLC. I'm so glad she was able to come! And Andie lives just down the street, so she was able to come too!

Andie, Alysse, Annie, and Katie were all able to come too! We were missing Andie's oldest sister (Ashlyn) and Andie's SIL (Cambria), (both of whom I saw later in the week), but I'm so glad we had representation from the Smith family!

I made two music trivia games, so while we were waiting for the pizza to be delivered we play Music Movie Trivia. I was really proud of my game and it seemed like the ladies all had a fun time playing!

After dinner we played another one of my trivia games. This time it was 90s/00s music trivia! We all had a ton of fun singing along to the hits! After trivia we ate dessert from Ambrosial Bakery. 

By 11:00 PM most of the ladies were heading home. I am so glad I was able to see so many of my old roommates and friends. Until next time!

On Sunday, October 13th, Katey, Emily, and I went to Park City for the day. We parked on Main Street and then walked over to the High West Saloon for whiskey tasting and lunch.

After lunch we walked up and down Main Street.

On our way back to Vineyard, we stopped by The Riv where we all lived together during my Junior year.

We also drove by the P-Hut where we all lived my Senior year.

After we got back to the house we sat on the porch and watched the sunset. It was a beautiful weekend!

The next morning (Monday, October 14th) Emily headed back to Vegas. Katey and I decided to spend the day up in SLC. 

We had lunch a Squatters and then walked around City Creek Mall.

We then walked over to Temple Square. it was undergoing a lot of construction, so we hiked up to the top of the Conference Center to get a better view of all the action.

We then went for a long drive up Big Cottonwood Canyon. Once we made it up to Solitude we decided to finish the loop by driving through Midway and back out to the valley through Provo Canyon. It was a beautiful drive!

On Tuesday morning Katey and I headed back up to SLC. We went to The Food Nanny store to get cookies and then to Jolley's Corner to get candy for Katey's kids. We then got pedicures before having lunch at the Red Iguana!

After lunch I took Katey to the airport, so she could fly home to Vegas. My time with my girls wasn't long enough, but I'm glad they were able to come and spend a few days with me in Utah!

On Wednesday, I met Lacey at the American Fork Cemetery, so we could visit baby Claire.

Lacey and I chatted at the cemetery for a few hours and then we went to dinner with Ian and Rosie. It was so great to see Lacey and I'm glad I was able to spend some time with sweet baby Claire ❤️

Theo's Double Virus

Theo got sick during the week leading up to my trip to Utah. I sent him to school one day, but Ms. Jess said he slept a lot and just didn't feel well. It turns out he had caught Rhinovirus, which was causing his stuffy nose and cold-like symptoms.

We kept a close eye on Hurricane Milton as it was heading towards Florida. 

Luckily for Orlando, the damage was minimal and Disney World was only shut down for a day. Tragically 14 people were killed through out the state. It breaks my heart to see so many people impacted by these storms.

Theo's Developmental Specialist saw that Theo's iron level was on the "low end of the normal range," so she prescribed ferrous sulfate to help boost those numbers a bit. The day after we started giving Theo the iron he started having diarrhea and the next day he started vomiting. We were convinced it was the iron, but it turns out that Theo caught Adenovirus and the iron supplement was just a coincidence. Poor kid was positive for two viruses at the same time and one was causing GI issues, so we couldn't use the Vest to help with the cold.

My parents came into town, so they could help Josh with Theo while I was in Utah. I felt so bad leaving while Theo was sick, but I knew he would be fine. 

We were able to see the Norther Lights again!

On Friday morning (October 11th) my dad took me to the airport while Josh took Theo to the Pediatrician. They did a virus panel and sent him to the hospital for some x-rays. The Pediatrician recommended giving Theo 5-10 mls of fluid every 5 minutes to keep him hydrated. I reached out to the GI Specialist to see if we can get a feeding pump. That way we can give Theo fluids throughout the night. Of course, our new insurance denied the pump, but the doctor is fighting it on our behalf.

Thanks to mom, dad, and Josh for taking good care of Theo while I was away in Utah. I know Theo has a busy schedule and taking care of a sick kid is a lot of work. I very much appreciate all of them!
