Josh loves the mysterious, art-metal, psychedelic rock band Tool. He's been talking about them since we met way back in 2011 and he's been wanting to see them in concert since he was a kid. Even though Tool has been together for almost 30 years they've only put out five studio albums and they rarely tour. The last album came out in 2006 and when Josh had the chance to go see them in concert in 2017 he jumped at the opportunity to go (I was pregnant with Theo and stayed home). On August 30th of this year they finally put out a new album (13 years in the making) and announced they were going on tour! Josh got tickets immediately and I was excited to attend the concert with him!
Since the concert was on a Sunday we decided to go to the city early to get dinner before the concert. Our babysitter came over at 3:00 and we headed to Carnivale for dinner. We arrived at the restaurant a few minutes early, so we were able to watch the Chargers/Packers game for a few minutes (the Chargers won!) before we went inside.

The restaurant was huge and brightly decorated! We got a couple of margaritas to start, along with fresh guacamole and an empanada.
We then ordered Pisco Sour's (a drink we got a lot in South America), the Churrasco (Beef Tenderloin Skewer, Farofa Brasileira, cassava flour, bacon, onion, parsley), the Tira de Asado (Smoked bone-in short rib, Hazzard Farms grits, bone marrow, chimichurri), and lobster mac and cheese.

Everything was delicious and the meat was so tender!
After dinner we drove to the United Center and met up with Josh's co-worker, Jerry.
[Great seats!]
They had a very serious "NO CAMERA" rule, so the only time we were allowed to take pictures or videos was during the final song.
The band plays in mostly darkness with a lot of videos playing behind them and a choreographed light show. The band members would be featured and lights would shine on them, but the lead singer, Maynard, would stay in the shadows. But he does have a mohawk and you can see it shilhouetted against the bright background during a lot of the songs.
Set List:
Fear Inoculum
Ænema
The Pot
Parabol
Parabola
Pneuma
Schism
Jambi
Vicarious
Intolerance
Forty Six and Two
Chocolate Chip Trip (Drum Solo)
Invincible
Stinkfist
I'm so glad we were able to go see Tool! What I love even more is seeing Josh enjoying the concert so much. He doesn't get too excited very often, so it was fun to see him truly enjoy something. This year we've seen Elton John, Paul McCartney, and Michael Bublé, so Tool was an awesome change!
