CWI Class and Grandparents Visit

On Monday, November 1st, Theo and I headed to Hanger to get his new AFOs and SMOs. We had to delay once already and Theo's current AFOs were a little short, so I was excited to get these new ones.

While we were at the clinic I received a call from Theo's school. I let it go to voicemail and intended on calling them back once Theo's appointment was over. Turns out it was the Principal and Theo was exposed to someone on Friday, October 29th, who tested positive for COVID-19. Since Theo doesn't wear a mask (he does wear a shield), he has to quarantine for 10 days! Bummer. I called my parents who were already on the road and told them. They said they still wanted to come especially since the person that Theo was exposed to was wearing a mask and the transmission rate is low.

We had to cancel therapy for the entire week and Theo couldn't attend school in person, but we were able to Zoom in every day and he did some assignments on Seesaw.

One of Theo's homework assignments was to go for a walk and look for different color leaves. I think we were pretty successful!

We were able to FaceTime with Josh every night. Theo was always so excited to see Josh! He kept trying to reach through the screen and grab his beard.

Theo was supposed to have an ENT doctor appointment, GI Specialist appointment, and Global Entry interview in Peoria on Wednesday, November 3rd. I called everyone and explained the situation to them. The GI Specialist wanted us to reschedule, but we were good to go for the other two appointments.

On Wednesday, November 3rd, we all headed down to Peoria. Our first stop was the ENT. He looked in Theo's ears and told me that there is a lot of wax and the left ear tube appeared to be clogged. The nurse then came in and did a hearing test. She was able to get a response out of his right ear, but not his left. Another nurse came in and did the test again and got the same results. The ENT then came back in and said to give Theo four drops in each ear twice a day. I told him it would be difficult with the left ear because Theo won't lay on his right side, but we will give it our best try. He then looked in Theo's mouth and mentioned that he has large tonsils. He said that if we can't get that left ear tube cleared with the drops then he will have to go in and fix the tube. He also mentioned that while Theo was under anesthesia for that procedure he can take a pass at the tonsils. We have a followup appointment in five weeks, so we'll see what happens then.

After the ENT we all headed over to the airport, so Theo could have his Global Entry interview. He was tired and in a bad mood, but we got through the interview without any issues. Next, we headed to get some lunch, feed Theo, and pick up a few things at Costco. Thanks mom and dad for joining us on our adventure to Peoria!

On Thursday, November 4th, Theo had his school Zoom and it was "Yellow Day!"

That night I went and saw "Eternals" at the movie theatre. It's a LONG movie as you can tell by my Apple Watch. The movie was great and I'm excited to see what happens next in the MCU! Thanks mom and dad for babysitting!

[School work]

[More FaceTime with dada]

My dad wanted to go visit the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, so we did. It was beautiful and very peaceful.

[Thanks Grammy Suzi for the Tonies!]

Josh was able to take his test early on Saturday, December 6th, so he made it home late that night. Theo was THRILLED to see his dada and all he wanted to do is wrestle!

Josh also had a LONG week. He said that his class was tough and the teacher wrote very hard practice test's, but she prepared them well for the exam. Josh won't know his test score for a few weeks, but he feels confident that he passed.

[He did enjoy some local cuisine]

I am so proud of Josh for studying hard and for going all the way to GA for this class and test. He is such a hard worker!

We are going to take family pictures in December. Even though I love Theo's long hair, it is getting a little out of control. It'll grow out a bit before our pictures next month.

[So handsome!]

So funny:

On Sunday, November 7th, 30,000 people ran in the New York City Marathon. My favorite trainer Tommy Rivs finished the marathon. Yes, it took him over 9 hours, but this time last year he couldn't even walk! He is such an inspiration!

[High-fives and pizza!]

This weekend I also got my swag from completing my 37 miles for Tommy Rivs' birthday a few months ago.

[I love it!]
