Final Week of 2022 & Happy New Year 2023

The week between Christmas and New Years is for relaxing, working on your to-do list, and eating a lot of good food!

I asked Josh to wipe off some marks that were on the ceiling. While he was up there he noticed that the top of the cabinets were dusty 🙂

I've tested Theo three times since his exposure and he's been negative every time. YAY!

The Chargers clinched a spot in the Playoffs when they won on Monday!

Early in the week I received a call from the scheduler at Luries. She said there was a cancellation and they could get Theo in for his PET, MRI, and video EEG on January 3rd! I was so excited! I texted everyone, cancelled/rescheduled appointments, and booked a PCR test. Unfortunately, a few days later she called back and said she made a mistake. The MRI would not be available for Theo. Bummer. We decided to go ahead with the video EEG at the EMU and we would come back on February 6th for the sedated CAT and MRI. I'd rather do the hospital stay and EEG this week since Theo wouldn't be missing too much school and Josh is currently off from work.

We finally got my black opal set! Isn't it beautiful?! We bought this black opal back in 2015 while on our honeymoon in Australia. I'm excited that I can actually wear it after watching it sit on my jewelry organizer for the last seven years!

Whenever I go to a new country I buy a pin, but I also try to find local jewelry. I find it to be a good conversation starter.

For example:

"I love your ring!"

"Thanks! I bought it from a glass-blower in Venice!"

On Wednesday, December 28th, we all headed to the OSF St Elizabeth in Ottawa. Theo had an appointment with Neurosurgery that afternoon and they wanted him to have a quick CT scan, so they could check on his VP shunt.

I was worried that Theo wouldn't hold still during the scan, but he was very calm. I think he really liked the warm blanket that the nurse gave him.

[I waited in the hall while Josh wore the lead-lined apron and stayed with Theo]

After he was done (it was just a quick picture) Josh put Theo in his wheelchair and he started to cry. He probably thought he was going to take a nap under that nice warm blanket. This kid LOVES his naps!

We then swung by the lab and Theo got his blood drawn. Both St Judes Oncology and Hematology and the Epilepsy Specialist wanted some bloodwork done, so Theo had four vials to fill. He wasn't happy, but he was a trooper!

After the bloodwork we met with Neurosurgery. They said his shunt looked good and we will see them in one year.

Josh decided to take the Super Charger out of the Rubicon and now he is dealing with power steering issues. It's always something, right?!

I think the Cookie Jar Bakery closed for good. They were a local bakery that made the BEST buckeyes. I decided I would give it a try and make my own buckeyes. They were pretty easy to make.

They taste better than they look!

FINALLY! FINALLY! I haven't been a CA resident since 2013 and I've been trying to get my voter registration cancelled so I don't keep getting those annoying calls from the candidates. Now if I can get the WI one cancelled we will be good to go!

This mug is an inside joke from The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and I love it so much!

There is so much new Star Wars content coming out this year!

In 2022 we got:
-Three new live action series: Kenobi, Andor, Book of Boba Fett
-One new animated series
-13 books
-20 comics
-A manga
-A new theme park experience
-Short stories

150 new Star Wars stories released!

BUT In 2023 we are getting:
-Three live action series: Mandalorian, Ahsoka, Skelton Crew
-Animated series: Bad Batch (Season 2), Vision (volume 2), Young Jedi Adventures
-Jedi Survivor video game
-Hunters (kids book and video game)
-Books: Battle Scars, Rise of the Red Blade, From a Certain Point of View (ROTJ), The High Republic Phase II, and The High Republic Phase III
-One Manga
-Comics: 5 High Republic Series, Sana Starros, ROTJ 40th Anniversary Celebration One-shots (Jabba’s Palace, Yoda, etc), more comics from the ongoing series (Main run, Bounty Hunters, Dr Aphra, Darth Vader), Hidden Empire, Han Solo & Chewbacca, and Yoda
-Star Wars Celebration London!

And that's just what we know about so far! I think we will pass the 150 from last year! It's a great time to be a Star Wars fan!

Silly boys always wrestling!

I laughed too hard at this:

For New Years Eve we got Theo a PCR COVID test (he's negative), watched Citizen Kane, ordered in Chinese food, and went to bed early!

Happy New Year! I hope it's a good one!

I almost forgot, Theo had one seizure every day this week.
