I'm back from my epic trip! It was a blast and I feel like I'm still recovering from jet lag! I've been trying to catch up on work (three weeks worth of paperwork is a lot!) and get back in to a good schedule.
It will take me a while to download, organize, and label all of our photos and then I need to write my blogs. I will back post them, so if you want to see what we did on April 16th (and I promise, you do!), you'll have to go back and look 😊
While I was gone Josh held down the fort and got our nursing care all set up. He also was dealing with insurance issues around Theo's food AND working full time. I'm glad we were able to get the nursing care set up, so he could have help when he needed it.
Josh and I decided to try Hello Fresh for week day dinners. They deliver the entire meal to you and all you need to do is cook. We've had six meals so far and they've all been great!

On Wednesday, May 7th, we went to Peoria for two doctors appointments. First we went to GI, Dr. Ullah, at the hospital. Theo's weight has plateaued (56.8 lbs), which is what the doctor wants, so that's good. We also got him back on Kate Farms Pediatric Peptide 1.5, which works so much better for Theo and his tummy. Dr. Ullah told us to keep doing what we are doing and we'll see him again in 6-8 months.
We had a few hours to kill between appointments, so we went to the new inclusive Tricentennial Playground. They have a variety of equipment that Theo was able to use including an accessible swing. Theo loves to swing and after a few minutes he fell asleep!
I noticed there was still construction going on around the playground, so I reached out to the Peoria Park District and asked them if they had plans to put in a bathroom with a powered, height adjustable, adult changing table. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that they WILL be installing a bathroom with a powered, height adjustable, adult changing table this summer! I can’t wait to go back to the park and get the new table added to our map!
After swinging for a while at the park we went and got lunch and then walked around the mall. We then headed to the Midwest Orthopedic Center to see Dr. Akeson. Theo got x-rays of Theo's hips and spine and then Dr. Akeson did a physical check. The x-ray shows that Theo's spine is straighter (YAY!) and his hips look great! Dr. Akeson is very happy with his progress and he told us we can come back and see him again in one year.
We are all coughing and have stuffy noses. Of course, it's hard to tell if it's allergies or a cold or both. Whatever it is I hope it passes soon!
Happy Mother's Day! Theo got me these cute pots and an Ahsoka Fan that I wasn't able to get at Star Wars Celebration!
On Sunday night we were able to FaceTime with my family briefly. It was great to see them and wish everyone a happy Mother's Day! I can't wait to see them all in person next month!
Happy Mother's Day to my mom! She's the best!
