2020 has been rough and on top of that we lost two of the greats: The Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) and The Black Mamba (Kobe Bryant).
[I love this tribute]
I received some homework from Theo's Feeding Therapist. Reading scientific journals is a lot of fun 🙂
My moms birthday is August 31st and we got her a piano. She is pretty excited about it! But I think she was more excited to celebrate with Brady, Dane, and Cole!
We now have two properties in Windsor Hills, Orlando! The condo has been doing great, so we bought a house! My parents spent a month down there fixing it up and getting it ready for renters. We had a guy come in and paint a Frozen mural in one bedroom and a Star Wars mural in another bedroom. It looks amazing! Also, a special shout out to Missy for helping too! Check out the house here and the condo here.
I bought some Star Wars Ahsoka Tano jewelry from Ashley Eckstein's website, Her Universe. If you are a nerdy girl you should check it out! She has some super cute things!

[For reals, right?!]
September is a lot of things, but one of those things is Brain Aneurysm Awareness Month:
I've been focusing on eating healthier lately. A cut up apple with non-fat pain greek yogurt, a little honey, cinnamon, and powdered peanut butter is my go-to lunch!
I guess eating healthy is working since I'm down 10%
Theo has continued working hard at therapy and for all of his school assignments. Since he has a visual impairment and does NOT enjoy coloring, his PT suggested we get an easel so he can see what he is coloring.
[Watching videos for school while in his stander. We gotta multitask!]
[Waiting for one of his many Zoom meetings to start]
[Using Seesaw to color on the iPad]
We are working on modeling for Theo in hopes that he gets interested in eating. Josh LOVES eating applesauce with his fingers!
[Working on puzzles]
We've been learning about emotions at school this week. Theo is very expressive!
[Joy]
[Disgust]
[Anger]
[Sad]
His moods swing so fast that I was able to get pictures of all of his emotions in about 30 seconds!
On Wednesday, September 2nd, Theo and I headed down to Peoria to see his GI Specialist and Neurologist.

Want some crazy news?! Theo is OVERWEIGHT! I know, right? Remember, when he was in the 5th percentile for weight? Well, he is in the 99th percentile now. So, we are going to cut his calories a tiny bit until he plateau's. I told the GI Specialist that Theo hasn't throw up in a month (which is huge for him since he use to throw up daily). She was happy to hear that, so she decided to cut back his acid reflux medicine. I'm hesitant, but we will give it a try.
After GI we saw Neurology. We talked about Stem Cell therapy and if he thought it would help Theo. He told me that that kind of therapy for CP kids is still being researched if we wanted to do it we would have to leave the country. Um, no thanks! He didn't think it was a good idea either. The Neurologist is happy with Theo's progress and we don't need to see him for another TWO YEARS!
[This is how Theo watches his school videos]
[JOY!]

[Learning about Joy and Anger]
[More Zooms]
Theo's left side is slightly larger then his right side (hemihypertrophy/hemihyperplasia). As a result his left leg is just a little bit longer then his right. So, I constructed a little lift for him out of cardboard. Yep! I'm super crafty!
[Trying to get Theo to play with Play-Doh by putting it on his switch. He didn't like me messing with his switch!]
The Lakers started Round 2 of the Playoffs on Friday, September 4th. I have a good feeling about this post season!
Josh has had a few late nights at work this week. We are, of course, grateful that he is continuing to work during this pandemic!
[Cleaning my jewelry]
I thought it would be a good idea to get rid of some of Theo's baby items. I found a "tubie" family that was in need of adaptive shirts (they are SOO expensive) and a local family that is having a surprise baby. I'm glad I was able to donate to these families and help them out!
[How did Theo ever fit in this?!]
[Another week DONE!]
Our PT got Theo an "Eazy Hold" which will help Theo hold markers and spoons. He's not too excited about it, but he doesn't hate it either. I hope it will teach him to be a little more independent.

[Just being super silly]
Remember back on May 4th, when I tried to buy these ears online and they sold out in seconds? AND THEN they all showed up on eBay for $500?! Well, the eBay prices finally came down and Josh bought the droid ears for me! EEK! I love them! Here's hoping the Ahsoka ears drop in price too and I can add those to my collection!
[Working on coloring]
[More food play]
["What's this?!"]
[Theo LOVES Elmo!]
Theo's Feeding Therapist suggested trying different foods with Theo. I thought "sour" would be fun! He didn't hate it!
[Sesame Street videos for school]
Theo was supposed to play with the rice on a cookie tray, but his OT suggested trying it in a bag first.
We have been learning about the color red at school this week! Elmo is red!
Theo is still not super interested in Play-Doh, but we are getting there.
[Sitting up like a rockstar and holding up his head]
[🙃]
Josh and I were introduced to Manuka honey when we were in New Zealand on our honeymoon. Guys, it's delicious! We found some at our local Costco. It's not the highest grade (10+) and it's not as good as I remember. But I'm sure we can find the higher grade kind somewhere around here.
How awesome are these?!
AND MY LAKERS ARE IN THE WESTERN CONFERENCE FINALS!
The garage is driving both of us crazy, so Josh splurged and got some nice cabinets. I can't wait to see the finished project!
So, how are you guys doing? How's e-learning treating you?
