Monday, November 18th:
Theo headed off to school while Josh and I went to work. After school I took Theo to OT. He LOVES Ms. Laura and he usually works really hard for her, but today he was really fighting her. While Ms. Laura was sitting behind her Theo reached out and pulled her hair! I've seen him pinch before, which is also not nice, but pulling hair is a new one. I decided that on Thursday, I would not sit in on his therapy session and hopefully that will alter his behavior for the better.
We got a door hanger for our condo in Orlando. What do you think?!
Theo had seven observable seizures today.
Tuesday, November 19th:
Theo had picture day at school. Ms. Jess said that they got a great picture of him. I can't wait to see it!
[Laughing at his button]
While Theo was at school I had a phone call with a lady from DSCC. It looks like Theo is going to qualify for the medicaid waiver. I'm not getting my hopes up yet though. After Thanksgiving she is going to do a home visit and also reach out to Theo's doctors for documentation about all of his conditions.
After school I took Theo to PT with Ms. Cody and then to see Sherman at The Legacy Ranch. He did really well during both of those lessons!
Theo had 8 observable seizures today including one that was 60 seconds long and one that was 90 seconds long.
Wednesday, November 20th:
Theo had a short day at school today. I sent him off to school on the bus and then a few hours later Josh and I headed to the school for Thanksgiving lunch. We didn't stay long, but we had a delicious Thanksgiving meal! Thanks to all the amazing staff at GSCEC for hosting us!
Theo had three observable seizures today.
Thursday, November 21st:
We woke up to a light dusting of snow! I guess winter is almost here!
After I got Theo on the bus I went to talk to his pediatrician. Back in April 2021 the Genetics team found that Theo had a mutation that is associated with learning disabilities and Autism. We never pursued an official Autism diagnosis because we were so focused on all of Theo's other diagnoses. We've been talking with Theo's pediatrician and a few of his other doctors and they agree that an Autism diagnosis is appropriate. Today it was made official.
Theo's school work:
After school I took Theo to OT. I decided to go grocery shopping instead of sitting in on Theo's lesson. He did much better and he didn't pull Ms. Laura's hair!
[More snow!]
Theo had six observable seizures today including one that was 91 seconds long.
Friday, November 22nd:
Today was my last day of work on my current project. I'll be back to work in the spring when the project starts up again.
[My handsome boy!]
After school I took Theo to PT where he worked very hard for Ms. Cody.
Theo had four observable seizures today including one that was 74 seconds long.
Weekend:
I went and saw Wicked! It was really great! I highly recommend it if you love musicals!
We are participating in a study about changing tables. We had to do some videos and take photos of where we change Theo while we are at home.
[This is where we change him]
On Sunday we bought Josh's flight to Anchorage. He leaves on December 26th! He'll fly from Chicago to Anchorage and then his work will fly him the 620 miles from Anchorage to the North Slope. When he gets there it'll still be Polar Night and the sun won't officially rise until January 17th. Tomorrow we are going shopping for some really good cold weather gear!
What are your favorite Christmas movies?!
