HoHo's Take Cabo: Part II - Taco Tour and Spa Day

Saturday, August 23rd:

We ordered room service for breakfast and then headed up to the lobby. There we were greeted by our driver who took us to Cabo for our Cabo San Lucas Downtown Food and Tacos Tasting Experience.

We met at a local store where we were paired up with a nice couple from New Zealand. We then met our tour guide, The Captain. He explained to us the origin of some of the food dishes in Mexico (it's not called "pico de gallo," it's "Mexican salsa") and then we had our first taco.

It was fresh and built on top of a thick corn tortilla. The Captain said we could have another one (and I REALLY wanted another one), but I knew we had more to eat on the tour.

[So happy!]

We then walked to our second stop where we got carne asada tacos with fresh guacamole. It was one of the best tacos I've ever had!

We then walked to our third stop to get pork tacos. They were so fresh!

Our fourth stop was another taco place were we got chicken mole. Again, it was amazing!

The temperature was climbing fast, so stop five was perfect! We got fresh popsicles!

We then walked to the sixth stop where we got swordfish tacos. I've only had swordfish once before and I remember it being really tough. But not this swordfish! It was spicy and fresh 😋

We then walked back to our starting point where we were given hot churros with chocolate sauce. We then met the owner of the tequila shop. He explained how tequila was made and how to properly drink tequila. He told us the best way to enjoy tequila is not with shots or in mixed drinks, but by drinking it straight. You are supposed to take a small sip, swish it for three seconds, swallow, and blow out. If you blow out then it won't burn your throat. We tried a bunch of different tequila's and had fun trying all the different tequila liqueurs.

We said thank you and goodbye to The Captain and the owner of the shop. The tour was a lot of fun! I am glad we got to try all those different types of tacos, but I wish we could have tried different types of foods too like tamales, tortas, enchiladas, etc.

We then headed to the Marina to walk around.

Señor Frogs!

It was really hot, so we headed back to the hotel and went straight to the pool!

Emily and Katey did some water aerobics while I ordered food and drinks.

That night we had dinner at the Blanca Blue Restaurant.

Sunday, August 24th:

We could hear the waves through our balcony doors on the fourth floor over night. The next morning I checked the weather and there was a tropical storm 400 miles off shore. This is what was causing the large waves, but it will also be responsible for keeping it a little cooler (low 90s) for the next few days!

We had an amazing day lounging by the pool! At 3:00 PM we headed to the spa for our treatments. First we started with the hydrotherapy circuit, which consisted of a sauna, steam room, a cold plunge, and various pressured water treatments.

We were then taken to our private rooms where we each got a 80 minute therapeutic massage with lavender and CBD oil. It was one of the best massages I've ever had! The massage included Swedish massage elements, hot stones, heavy pressure, and stretching. It was AMAZING! We then all got a 50 minute Vitamin C Revitalizing Facial with a 20 minute scalp massage.

We were all super relaxed and happy when we regrouped. We then headed to dinner at Hiroshi for sushi. The appetizers were delicious, the sushi rolls were just fine, but the desserts were all great!
