HoHo's Take Cabo: Part III - Sailing and Heading Home

Monday, August 25th:

Sadly, it was our last day in Cabo. We order room service for breakfast and then headed to the lobby to catch our ride to the Cabo Marina for our Los Cabos Luxury Sailing, Snorkel, and Lunch Cruise.

We gathered at "Cabo Adventures" building and then we met our crew and fellow sailors. They took us to our sailboat where we would be spending the next few hours.

The excursion included an open bar, but it was a little choppy out, so we took it easy. I also took a dramamine 🙂

Onboard we met the Captain, our photographer, and two crew members. The photographer was awesome and took a TON of pictures, so we didn't have to worry about having our phones out.

Whenever he told us to be excited I always said "WOOOO!" It doesn't make for the best picture! Clearly Emily and Katey are much better at this!

As we were leaving the Marina I spotted a seal and then as we approached El Arco de Cabo San Lucas I spotted a HUGE sea turtle just a few feet from the boat!

We took turns getting our pictures taken on the bow of the boat. The water was pretty choppy and we were bouncing around a lot!

[Another one of my "excited" poses]

We left El Arco de Cabo San Lucas and headed towards our snorkeling spot. During the 90 minute ride the crew kept asking us if we needed drinks and they brought us a snack consisting of chips, Mexican salsa, guacamole, and shrimp 😋

We sat toward the front of the boat and we kept getting splashed by the waves. The water was warm and it felt so good to be back out at sea!

We got to our snorkel spot after a fun ride! The water was still a little choppy and murky when we jumped in, but that didn't stop the fish from showing up! The crew on the boat kept throwing fish food at us so the fish would get close. Emily kept screaming (she doesn't like fish) and the guys kept laughing at us. She's a good sport!

[First one in!]

[Katey is next]

[Come on Em!]

The crew asked us if we knew the hand signs for "shark." It was pretty funny!

We didn't snorkel very long since the water wasn't very clear, so I suggested we all link arms and float together like otters.

We then attempted to get on the paddle board. Emily and Katey did really well!

[Katey is a pro!]

[Nice, Em!]

Katey then tried one more time and when she fell off the paddle board it hit this lady in the head. The pictures were hilarious! Don't worry, she was fine and laughing about it!

After snorkeling we all got back on the boat and the crew gave us lunch. We had a Caesar salad, chips, Mexican salsa, and pasta salad. It was all so refreshing!

After we all finished lunch the crew opened the sails and we were officially sailing!

They had us all sit on one side of the boat and then when the sail came across we all had to duck!

I kept thinking of Bill Murry in What About Bob? "I'M SAILING!"

We made our way back to the Marina, said goodbye and thanks to the crew, and then we were taken back to the "Cabo Adventures" building. There the photographer showed us all the fun photos he took. We decided to split the cost and get them!

We headed straight for the pool after we got back to the hotel. I wish the water was a little clearer, but other than that I have no complaints about our excursion!

That night we went back to Blanca Blue for dinner.

The churro with icecream was the BEST!

It was the perfect final day in Cabo with my girls!

Tuesday, August 26th:

We flew out of Cabo that afternoon and made it back to Phoenix without any issues. I arrived at Midway Airport in Chicago at midnight. I got a ride home with a local business, so Josh and Theo wouldn't have to come get me.

I don't go on a lot of relaxing vacations, but when I do I realize how much I need them! It was so nice to just sit around and do nothing with my best friends. It was just what we all needed. Life can get so crazy - Emily is raising three kids on her own and starting nursing school soon, Katey just got a huge promotion at work, and I just started a business. We are all each others biggest cheerleaders and I don't know what I would do without these ladies by my side. I love them so much and I can't wait for our next adventure!
