Summer 2025 Photo Drop

Ever since we got home from our family reunion in Ohio, life has been BUSY! Theo has been spending a lot of time with Nurse Jess and Nurse Milto and they have been great! They have taken him to the Shedd Aquarium, the pool, numerous parks and Farmers Markets, Sherman’s House, the Field Museum, the Museum of Science and Industry, 31st St Beach, and so much more!

Brodee got in a dirt bike accident. He was out riding in the Utah desert when he crashed his dirt bike going 75 mph. Luckily, someone saw him crash and called 911. He was take to the hospital where he had x-rays. He fractured two vertebrae and the doctors told him if he wasn't wearing his helmet and chestplate it would have been much worse! He has to wear a body brace while he recovers. He may be a daredevil, but at least he wears his gear! Love this kid!

Theo and I watched the Tour de France every day. We are big fans of Jonas Vingegaard who is a rider from Denmark. Between him and Tadej Pogačar, they have won the last six Tours. They are friends, but are on different teams, so they are super competitive. We love to watch them!

Josh bought a bonsai while I was in Japan and it's been struggling. I managed to save our ficus bonsai, so I figured I could save our little redwood forest. There is a little life, so I'll see what I can do!

[Here's what it is supposed to look like]

We have quite a few live plants in our house right now and I love them, BUT sometimes we get tiny flying bugs that drive me crazy. I ordered three carnivorous plants to help control any bugs!

I've been watching Colber since he first started on the Daily Show when I was in college. I'm so sad his show is being cancelled. How am I supposed to make it though the news cycle without satire?! Josh and I are planning on going out to NYC to see his show before he's done.

July 26th is Disabilities Awareness Day! July 26, 2025 marks 35 years since the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) was signed into law by President George H.W. Bush. July 26th is also Changing Spaces awareness day. While the ADA has been a great start, more needs to be done for accessibility like installing powered, height adjustable, adult changing tables in all family restrooms. I hate that my son is not able to go to so many places because there isn't a safe and dignified place to change him.

[Look how many chapters we have!]

Josh and I have also been keeping busy. Josh is still working as a Chief Inspector. He is gone at work a lot, but he still finds time to wrestle with Theo whenever he can!

I have been busy working full time as an Office Manager, Airbnb host, and a volunteer advocate for Changing Spaces. I also managed to finish my blogs for Japan, so check them out here! I am also managing Theo's busy schedule and all of his doctors and therapy appointments. But I'm not busy enough, so luckily my new company hired our first two employees! So I am insanely busy trying to run a small business. It's been fun, but also very stressful!

I can't believe Theo is turning 8 this weekend and I am turning 40. Yep! 40! It's been a great summer, but we are ready to Theo to head back to school and start third grade!
