Monday, May 10th, was "Hawaiian Shirt Day" at Theo's school. His shirt was a little tight, but it was too cute!
[Missy said this is what Harry Potter would look like if he went to Hawaii 🤣]
When I went to pick Theo up from school, he had a little present tucked under his arm. He seemed very proud of it and didn't want to give it to me. I opened it to find this ADORABLE framed picture of him! His aid, Ms Tammy, was so excited for me to see it too. She said they dressed all the kids in oversized vintage clothes and had a blast taking tons of pictures of them!

Tuesday, May 11th, was "Dress Like a Pirate Day!"
On Thursday, May 15th, the CDC announced that vaccinated people don't have to wear mask anymore.
I've had this on our front door for the last year. I think it's time to take it down. Theo still has "complex medical needs," but it seems like most delivery people know they don't need to get signatures on packages and interact with consumers face-to-face in order to do their jobs productively. Right?
When I picked up Theo from school, Ms Tammy told me that he missed bubble time in the class room (since he was at therapy). So, when we got home I got out the bubble machine.
At first he hid from them.
Then he tried to back away.
And then he got a little curious.
Theo's class will be learning about Sea Turtles next week!
On Friday, May 14th, Josh's co-workers bought him a Nothing Bundt Cake to celebrate his birthday. That night I went and bought him his favorite meal: stuffed crust pizza with wings!
The landscaper finished his work just in time for Josh's birthday! YAY! Everything looks great and I love the rock!

Josh and Theo like to roughhouse! Theo has figured out how to put Josh in a headlock by pulling on his beard. It's quite funny!
Saturday, May 15th, was Josh's actual birthday, so he had leftover cake for breakfast!
Happy birthday Josh! We love you so much!
And then he went and wrestled with Theo!
During an emotional ceremony, Kobe was inducted into the Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2020 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
[Food Play!]
I've been working hard on a speech book for Theo. It requires a lot of picture taking (or finding them on the internet), printing, cutting, laminating, cutting, velcro-ing, and hole punching. We are going to incorporate it into Theo's daily routine and see how he does.
On Sunday, May 16th, we went to a Food Truck Rally at a local church. It was the first time I had been around people without my face mask on since the start of the pandemic. No joke. Getting out and doing social things with a child with special needs is so hard. That, plus the pandemic, has really made us homebodies. But I have told myself that I will make more of an effort to get us out of the house this summer. So we will start here with the Food Truck Rally!
There were three trucks: a Taco truck, an Auntie Anne's truck, and a Cream-Crunch-n-More truck.
First we ordered some Mexican food and sat on the lawn to eat.
[Being silly!]
Then we got some ice cream from Cream-Crunch-n-More.
Theo LOVES his dada SOOO MUCH! And Theo thinks he is such a funny kid when he pulls on dada's beard!
On our way out, we stopped by the Auntie Anne's truck and got a couple of pretzels (for later). Over all it was a fun day and a nice excuse to get outside for an hour!
