Bridge Ceremony and Last Day of First Year PreSchool

This week was our 7th Wedding Anniversary (is that right?), Theo's last day of First Year Preschool (he has two more to go!), and Josh went to Wisconsin to visit his family!

Josh always gets me something "traditional" for our anniversary. For the 7th wedding anniversary the traditional gift is copper. Josh got me this beautiful copper rose and card. I love it! Especially since I'm allergic to real flowers! Happy Anniversary to us! Here's to many more!

On Monday, May 24th, Theo's class had their "Bridge Ceremony" where they cross a tiny (SOOO TINY) bridge and celebrate moving on to their next year of school. Theo was supposed to dress fancy, so he wore this tuxedo shirt!

Parent's were not allowed at the school, so they streamed it online for us all to watch!

Theo's class was up first and Theo was the first kid to "cross the bridge," but his Special Tomato was too big so his nurse just pushed him next to it. Mrs. Dilorenzo said such nice things about her students and I'm excited for him to have her again in the fall!

[I tried to get a cute picture of Theo when I picked him up, but he was ready to go home and see "dadada"]

[I got a better one once we got home!]

Theo's teachers have been working hard all year to compile this notebook, which is full of a lot of his work. I've seen more of the pictures and artwork, but some of it was new and I was so excited!

[Theo as a butterfly!]

[Apparently they took over 60 pictures of Theo during his Mother's Day photo shoot!]

Theo, Josh, and I all had a crazy allergy attack this week! It was horrible! And you know it's really bad when it affects Josh too. Ugh! We had to end up canceling most of Theo's therapies for the week because of all their strict (but understandable) rules. I called and got myself an appointment with an allergist next week. I hope they can help me because my face hurts so much!

Thursday, May 27th, was Theo's last day of school! He wore his tie-dye shirt and celebrated with all of his new friends. His nurse said he did great all week and the kids in the classroom take turns trying to make him laugh. And he is especially loved by the girls in the class! He's such a stud!

On Friday, May 28th, Josh headed to Wisconsin to spend the long weekend with his family. I'm glad he was able to make the quick trip up there and because he was vaccinated he was able to go see his Grandma.

Theo and I hung out at the house and watched the FRIENDS reunion! It was so great!

[Theo loves to be sneaky and crawl over to his stander. He's really into those big wheels!]

I exercise every day while Theo is napping. On Friday I was running and about 15 minutes into my run I heard a loud bang and the treadmill dropped an inch. It scared me, so I jumped off and pushed the emergency stop button. The tread slid off a bit and I don't know how to fix it, so until Josh gets home I am just going to focus on cycling. I hope we can easily fix it because this treadmill was expensive!

After Theo's nap we went for a drive in the Rubicon (Josh took the Traverse to WI). Theo wasn't sure about being in a new car, but Puppy was there to keep him company.

[His hair is getting so long!]

On Sunday, May 30th, Theo and I watched the Lakers game. They lost 😭

Poor Theo cries if I cough or sneeze too loud. Ugh. I really need to get these allergies under control!

For the second year in a row, the Illinois School for the Visually Impaired Opening Doors is taking place online. They sent us this care package to help us prepare. I'm excited to listen to the lectures this week!

We hired a professional photographer to take pictures of our condo. They look amazing! I love how the new floors look!

[For reals!]

May Madness, IEP Meeting, and McKinley Woods

This is Theo's last full week of school! I can't believe he finishes his final week of First Year Preschool next Thursday!

Theo is continuing to work with his new speech book. I am having him pick out which toy he wants. He will look at the book and smile when I mention a toy he wants, but he's not pointing them out yet. Baby steps.

We have another nest outside our window. We can't see it as well as the one last year, so I haven't been documenting it.

"May Madness" continues! On Tuesday, May 18th, it was "Crazy Hat Day."

[Cute gift from his Vision therapist]

On Wednesday, May 19th, I had a Zoom with Theo's teachers, therapist, and school representatives to discuss his IEP. They all had such nice things to say about him. His classroom teacher, Mrs. DiLorenzo, talked about how much he has improved and how the kids LOVE to make him laugh in class. She mentioned a few girls that have really taken a liking to Theo! All of the therapist talked about Theo's progress and how excited they are to work with him again in the Fall. A teacher with Extended School Year (ESY) was there and she said that they are ready for him! They seem a little nervous, but it'll be fine!

At school Theo had to dress up as who (or what) he wanted to be when he grew up. We chose Batman! Who doesn't want to be Batman?!

That night we went for a walk and Theo rode his Amtryke! He did super well holding his head up and even reached up to hold onto the handlebars!

Thursday, May 20th, was "Sports Fan" day! GO LAKERS!

Playoffs start on Sunday!

We had a crazy heatwave and have been in a drought. It's been a little rough on our new plants! We are determined to save them and there is rain coming!

Josh rented this cool device that brings up all of the dead grass. There was so much of it!

BUUUUUTTTTT that is when our allergies started! All three of us have been sneezing and coughing. Poor Theo has a red nose!

On Sunday, May 23rd, we went on a family outing to McKinley Woods. It was a short walk from the parking lot to the river. It was a little hot and humid, but very nice in the shade!

I finished my first Cycle Series on out new bike! It was so much fun!

Just funny stuff:
