Theo's 22 Months Old

Theo is 22 months old! It’s time for an update!

[We bought new shoes for Theo, so he have better support in the Stander]

[He looks so grown up with his shoes and jeans!]

[We tried the "big boy swing" at PT. Theo did well holding his head up.]

[Playing with buttons and "Bebo"]

[We are still working on eating. Some days are better than others.]

[Josh got me a massage for Mother's Day! I'm excited to use it someday!]

[We completely weaned Theo off of EleCare Jr and he is not completely on Compleat]

We have successfully weaned Theo off of one of his anti seizure medications (phenobarbital). He hasn’t had any seizures 🙌🏻, BUT he’s struggling with his sleep. He’ll be up for hours in the middle of the night, get up super early, and then want to take crazy long naps during the day. I’m at a loss about what to do. I’m going to contact his Neurologist and see if we can wean him off of his second anti seizure medication (Keppra) soon. Maybe that’ll help 🤷‍♀️

[Our backyard is beautiful!]

[Theo's been playing with new toys]

On May 15th we Celebrated Josh's birthday! Theo and I drove 40 minutes to Millets to get two German Chocolate cupcakes and then another 30 minutes to pick up Josh's favorite pizza. He's a lucky guy! He also bought himself a Super Charger for his Rubicon, which he was so excited about!

Theo’s been doing well at his therapy sessions. He’s continuing to get stronger, but still lacking head control. Theo’s continuing to gain weight, but he still won’t eat anything orally. It’s been quite a battle.

[We had a couple pretty nasty storms come through. Tornado sirens were going off so Theo and I bunkered down at PT, but Josh was out in the open at work.]

[He's the cutest!]

[Sitting up in his chair]

[Theo's growing and is wearing 3T PJs!]

[You can tell how much weight Theo has gained by looking at his face]

On May 24th we went on a Family date to a local restaurant, C230. I wore my wedding jewelry and we had a great time! The traditional wedding gift for year five is wood. I got Josh a wooden stand for his bedside table and he got me a card made of wood and a wooden heart necklace.

We found out last minute that Josh was going to have a three day weekend! Yay! Good thing too because it took him the whole three days to install the Super Charger in his Jeep.

[HeadPod time!]

[Theo loves to swing, so we bought him one for the house]

[Since Theo is 100% on Compleat we had to stand syringe feeding ("push feed") him because the pump can't handle how thick the Compleat is. I got sick of using the plastic syringes we get from the medical supplier, so I bought this metal one. It works pretty well so far and it's "Eco Friendly!"

On Memorial Day the three of us went to dinner at Josh's boss' house. During dinner the tornado sirens went off and then it started hailing golf ball sized hail! The wind was so strong that there were barely any leaves left on the trees when it was over!

Turns out there were three tornados in the area! It was crazy, but we were safe!

[Working on tummy time]

On May 31st, Josh, Theo, and I drove to Superior, Wisconsin, to spend the weekend with Josh's family. Josh's Grandma Judy has been in and out of the hospital lately and she was having surgery, so we wanted to be there to support her.

On the way up we stopped in Tomah to feed Theo and get some cheese from Humbird Cheese. I got a three year aged cheddar and curds. While Josh got Ghost Pepper cheese which gave him hiccups!

We spent the next two days at the hospital in Duluth hanging out with Grandma Judy, Grandpa Joe, Grammy Suzi, Jessi, Ally, and Braxton.

[Braxton saying "hi" to Theo]

[Braxton bringing me a Cheese-It! YUM!]

[Grammy Suzi holding Theo]

[Napping in the car]

While we were in town we were able to go see Ally's Jump Park. She has been the GM since it opened 18 months ago and the Jump Park is a huge success. If you are ever in Duluth, MN, you need to go check it out!

Josh, Theo, and I also had lunch with George and Julie. It was fun to see them and catch up over some great Mexican food!

We drove home on Monday so that Josh could go back to work on Tuesday. It's a long drive, but seeing family make's it worth it!

[Feeding Theo at Starbucks]

On June 5th, I changed Theo's G Tube for the first time by myself!

[Theo working with Ms. Becca at PT]

[More HeadPod work]

Josh continues to enjoy his job and work hard and we appreciate that!
