Monday, November 10th:
We got another ceiling lift installed today. Right now we can still physically lift Theo, but it's nice to have the option to use a lift. I don't want the nurses or anyone to get injured by lifting him!
Theo had a great day at school! He stood in his stander for 30 minutes, listened to Pete the Cat, asked for activities with his eye gaze, and threw a pom-pom to a friend!
After school Theo had PT and OT with Ms. Becca and Ms. Laura.
The Rubicon hit 200,000 miles today! With how expensive new cars are and how high interest rates are, I am hoping that it still has another 100K in there!
Tuesday, November 11th:
Theo's class went on a field trip today to Walmart. Their goal was to find all the ingredients for green bean casserole. Nurse Stephanie said that Theo did really well!
[Found the green beans!]
The idea of a 50 year mortgage was floated today. That's gonna be a hard pass from me.
After school we took Theo to The Legacy Ranch for ridding lessons with Sherman and his friends! Theo did really well and we got a thumbs up!
That night we saw the Northern Lights from our backyard! Pink and green! I guess Wicked is coming out soon 😁
Wednesday, November 12th:
Theo had a half day at school, so he and Nurse Stephanie were home early. That night I had a meeting with my Northern Integrity partners and we were supposed to be able to see the Northern Lights again, but this is all I got...
Can you see a little green or is that just me?
AND the penny is dead for now. The nickel is next 😬
Thursday, November 13th:
Theo and Nurse Stephanie went to school and had a great day. Theo played bowling and dodgeball in PE (his favorite class) and then he took a nap with his pom-pom. Theo is only having 4-6 observable seizures a day right now. They are around a minute long, but they are intense and cause Theo to get really tired. Luckily, they have a nice bean bag chair at school where Theo can rest and recover.
Friday, November 14th:
Theo, Josh, and I made the 4 hour round trip drive to Peoria to see Theo's GI Specialist, Dr. Ullah. Theo is doing really well on his new formula and he has plateaued his weight (55th percentile) and height (85th percentile), so Dr. Ullah is happy about that. We are going to stay the course for now!
While we were at the doctors, my friend, Deepa, had a meeting with Senator Lakesia Collins about expanding Sami's Law. Senator Collins thought it was a good idea to submit a duplicate bill on the senate side, so if the bill gets stalled in the house, it can pass in the senate in the meantime and vice-versa. The deadline for the senate bill idea list was today at noon (the same time as their meeting)! So, Senator Collins had to stall, but it sounds like they got everything submitted! Senator Collins is very happy to be the co-sponsor and she has worked with Representative Briel before. Once the bill is written we are going to set up a meeting with everyone!
After we got home Theo had PT with Ms. Becca. We were able to get Theo in his walking harness for the last 15 minutes of their session. Even though the harness is a small, it's still too big for Theo. BUT Ms. Becca showed us how we can use it to help with Theo's sitting.
Weekend:
On Saturday we went to The Legacy Ranch for their Christmas Market. It took place in two of their arenas and there were food trucks outside! I was so happy that there were so many people there! Josh got some hot sauce and we also bought cookies and some Christmas decorations.
I love going to Christmas Markets! Hopefully we will be able to go to a few more this season!
I'm already thinking about the spring and the flowers I want to plant. I love these dahlias and ranunculus flowers because they are puffy and cute! I think we are going to give them a try this spring. Wish me luck!
