Christmas in Cancun - Part II: Time at The Grand Mayan

December 21st:

The next morning we caught the shuttle and headed to the airport. I knew we would need extra time at TSA because we were bringing all of Theo's food and medication with us, so we got there extra early.

Traveling with Theo is a lot of work, but we were able to make it happen!

Since our flight was delayed, we ended up arriving at the airport at the same time Luke, Andie, Porter, and Kenna did!

We all hopped in a shuttle and headed to the Vidanta Riviera Maya where we would be staying for the next week!

Our family got three two-room condos at The Grand Mayan:
1 - My parents with Luke, Andie, Porter, and Kenna
2 - Missy, Tyson, and Cole with Josh, Theo, and I
3 - Ryan and Kayleen with Brady and Dane

The condos were very spacious and beautiful!

December 22nd:

The next morning I woke up, opened the drapes, and found this guy standing outside!

[Cole being silly!]

We then headed across the hall to my parents condo to have breakfast and watch the kids decorate the "tree."

The boys then opened their "Welcome to Cancun" presents from my parents. They got digital cameras, so they could take their own pictures!

We all then headed to the pool where we spend the rest of the day lounging around.

That night we went to Havana Moon for dinner. YUM!

[Papa trying to get Cole to eat octopus! It was actually really delicious!]

[Dane was pooped!]

December 23rd:

The next day we went back to the pool and spent the day under the cabanas!

Theo and Kenna were able to take naps under the cabanas since they were large and shaded.

[No better place for a nap]

The beach was just a few steps away from the pool.

The tide pools were pretty picked over, but the boys liked to swim in them.

We took a walk on a pier and saw an octopus in the water! He can camouflage very well, but Ryan spotted him!

[Fish]

[Another fish]

[Evidence of kids!]

While I was in Orlando with my dad and Missy, I bought Harry Potter Trivial Pursuit. Of course, I brought it to Cancun and we played that night. It was a pretty intense game and the teams were evenly matched, but my team came away with the WIN! And just to be clear, I had not played it before and I even left the game in the original wrapping to prove to my family I had not read any of the cards before playing!
