Bathroom Painted and Reclaiming Theo's Room

Monday, February 19th:

The doves are scoping out our birdhouse! That means spring is close, right?!

Theo didn't have school today, so we just hung out at home while the contractor took down all the plastic in Theo's room and the front entry. That means the messy stuff is done and it's time to paint.

[They always leave their space clean!]

The outer walls and Theo's room will be grey (we have some of the original paint in the basement) and the bathroom will be rainwashed (light green).

That night Josh and I went to The White Chocolate Grill for dinner while Theo hung out with Ms. Jess. He was so happy to see her!

After a delicious dinner of seared ahi, salmon, shrimp, and baby back ribs, we headed over to Gibson's to get some of their famous chocolate mousse cake!

Thanks Ms. Jess for hanging out with Theo, so we could have a date night!

Theo had 8 observable seizures today.

Tuesday, February 20th:

Josh and I decided to give "Just Meats" a try. We both need to eat more protein and I'm getting burned out on salmon and grilled chicken. We got a ton of different meats to try. I was excited when the box showed up, but then we discovered that one of the sauces exploded and caused a huge mess. We had to wash everything off, but the marinade smelled really good, so it's all okay!

[Variety of meats. Check them out!]

That morning Josh and I went to Woodcraft Enterprises to check out the progress on the bathroom vanity. We met with the owner and I was so blown away by the shop and his work that I forgot to take pictures! The custom vanity will have one regular sink and one ADA compliant sink. He just needs to paint it and then they will deliver it. I am so excited!

That afternoon we went to Theo's school to pick up him for therapy. Our friend is again parked over the line. Ugh.

We then went to PT/OT and then to The Legacy Ranch. Theo rode Sherman for his lesson. He did great and sat up really well with the support pillows. Kaylin wanted us to meet their largest horse, Willow. She is big and beautiful! Theo fed her some carrots and she gave Theo a kiss!

Theo had seven observable seizures today.

Wednesday, February 21st:

Theo had a crabby day at school. He didn't want to participate or sit up super strong in his chair. He also got mad at Ms. Jess when she told him he couldn't keep turning the volume on his device up so high. He said that was "no fair!" Oh this kid!

The plumbers came back today and installed our toilet. And a guy from All Glass came by to give us a quote on the glass panels for the shower.

The guys are all done with Theo's room! YAY! We are going to do a deep clean and move him back in this weekend.

Bunnies are out! Josh has already caught two of them. Don't worry, he takes them to a field a few miles away and sets them free.

That afternoon Ms. Jen AND Ms. Jeannine came over! We usually see Ms. Jeannine via Zoom, so it was nice to see her in person. Theo seemed very confused when she showed up. I don't know if he recognized her without the computer screen!

I sent a message to our Make A Wish coordinator last night. We are still trying to come up with a wish for Theo. I sent her a message to see if they could install something like this in our family room and Theo's bedroom.

Theo had six observable seizures today with one lasting for 84 seconds.

Thursday, February 22nd:

The electricians came back today! They finished wiring the switches and then installed the light fixtures and the light mirror. Things are looking really good!

That afternoon we went to Theo's school and found our friend parked like this:

I took Theo to OT with Ms. Laura and Ms. Jess said she would talk to Theo's teacher and our school Police Officer to see what they think.

Theo had 10 observable seizures today.

Friday, February 23rd:

Josh went to work today! It was just for one day to inspect some pipe, but we are hoping he'll be back to work full time in the next few weeks.

Theo had a very strange message on his eye gaze device today:

I thought maybe he had a tummy ache, but Ms. Jess said not to worry! He was fine and actually in a really good mood!

That afternoon I went to pick up Theo from school and our friend was parked badly again.

While I was talking to Ms. Jess outside Theo's teacher came outside to see the badly parked car. While she was checking it out, the school Police Officer came out. He told us that he would go find the owner and ask them to park correctly. YAY!

That afternoon I took Theo to PT where he worked SUPER hard! We are so proud of his progress!

Theo had seven observable seizures today with one lasting for 98 seconds.

Weekend:

Over the weekend we reclaimed Theo's bedroom, cleaned, put up shelves, and moved Theo back into his room.

Theo's room:

I looks fantastic and I am so excited for the ADA doors. Don't worry! I'll post "before and after" photos once everything is done.

We got Theo a timer to help him understand how long we will be doing certain activities. I set it for one hour and he sat in his chair, didn't complain, and ate some yogurt bites.

I have these super cute outfits from when Theo was a newborn and I couldn't get rid of them! I finally decided to put the clothes on teddy bears and display them in Theo's room and the Harry Potter guest room.

[Aren't they soooo cute?!]

How was he EVER this small?! 😭😭

[I thought this was so funny]

While I was visiting Katey in Vegas she introduced me to this TheraICE migraine relief cap. You put it in the fridge and put it on your head when you have a migraine or headache. I bought one after I got home because I've been having more and more migraines lately. This weekend I got to use it! I woke up at 3 AM Sunday morning with an awful headache that quickly turned into a migraine. I grab some migraine meds and the TheraICE and went back to bed. I was in so much pain while I waited for the meds to kick in, but I felt like the cold and pressure from the TheraICE helped a lot! I highly recommend it especially if you get frequent headaches or migraines. Click here!
