Downers Grove House... AGAIN! Part II: 31st Street Beach (TWICE) and the Minooka House

Monday, August 5:

The next day we decided to head to our favorite Chicago beach: 31st Street Beach! This beach is the best because there are plenty of life guards on duty, plenty of parking, a delicious cafe just down the boardwalk, the waves are small, AND it has the best views of the Chicago skyline.

[Our caravan]

I tried to feed Theo in the large wagon, but he kept throwing a fit. So, I threw him in his stroller (his happy place), walked him over to the cafe, got some lunch, and then fed him once he fell asleep.

My view at lunch. Can't complain!

[He LOVES his stroller!]

After spending the day at the beach we drove home and went swimming in the pool!

Last year Missy brought two Harry Potter puzzles that had us all wanting to pull our hair out! It took almost two weeks, but we were able to finish both Harry Potter puzzles. This year she brought FOUR Star Wars puzzles and we were all determined to have them done before we left in a week!

Tuesday, August 6:

No one sleeps in while they are on vacation, right?! No worries! Papa was always there to make us breakfast!

[Mom, Kenna, and Cole]

[Papa made Mickey Mouse pancakes]

After lunch we headed to Minooka so I could show the family where Josh, Theo, and I will be living. Yep! We are moving, again!

After showing them our new home we went and got Frozen Yogurt.

[Josh and his boys!]

[Getting the corn ready for dinner]

Wednesday, August 7:

On Wednesday we decided to go back to 31st Street Beach. Why not?!

[The boys were so helpful!]

[Sisters!]

[Salmon burger for lunch!]

[On the way home I had just Cole and Theo. As you can see it was a rough ride.]

[Working hard on the second Star Wars puzzle]

[Theo started sleeping on his back and it is too cute!]

Thursday, August 8:

HAPPY 2ND BIRTHDAY THEO! I can't believe my little guy is TWO!

The next morning Tyson flew in from Cincinnati and Missy picked him up from the airport. The rest of us hung out at the house and swam (of course!).

[Singing a birthday song to Theo]

[I took Brodee to get his passport photo taken so he can come to Cancun with us! At first he smiled, but then the lady told him he wasn't allowed to. His picture is VERY serious!]

[Andie got the whole pool to herself!]

Missy got a "hot potato" water balloon game and we encouraged the boys to play. Cole and Dane kept thinking it was going to make a loud noise when the buzzer went off. It didn't. It just made the water balloon inside pop!

Later that night a group went to a local park, so the kids could run around a bit!

The boys thought it would be fun to have Josh drag them around the house. The four big boys held on tight! It was pretty funny!
