Downers Grove House... AGAIN! Part III: Theo's Harry Potter Birthday Party

Friday, August 9:

Tyson and Missy came back from Chicago the next morning and brought me a birthday present! Chicago-style (Cheddar mixed with Carmel) Garrett Popcorn! YES! Thank you!

Since Ryan and Luke couldn't come in until Friday afternoon, I decided to throw Theo a birthday party a day late. It's okay, he didn't mind.

I spent the morning getting everything ready for Theo's party. We got balloons, decorated the table, ordered pizza from Giordano's, and ordered a cake from Milette's Bakery.

That afternoon Luke few in from Utah and Ryan drove in from Detroit. My whole family was here and I was so excited!

 [Three down! One to go!]

[Best popcorn EVER!]

[I bought these bottles from Michael's and ordered "potion labels" on Etsy. I'm not super crafty or creative, but I think it all turned out great!

[Ryan, Cole, Luke, and Kenna]

Of course, I ordered the cake from Milette's and it turned out AMAZING!

[Papa, Grandma, and Theo]

The pizza guy arrived just as we were trying to get a group shot. He had no problem taking a picture for us :-)

After we sang "Happy Birthday" and ate pizza, the boys went swimming.

Later that night we had cake! Each tier had a different flavor: yellow cake with Nutella buttercream, red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting, and chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream. Each tier was delicious!

[Theo got a bunch of books for his birthday! Thanks everyone for the kind gifts!]

Saturday, August 10:

For our final full day at the house we decided to grill some brats, swim, and play baseball.

[Ryan throwing Brodee]

[The Grill Master]

Last year we got a picture of Grandma with her six grandsons. We recreated the same picture this year and added Kenna!

[Grandma duty!]

[DONE!]

[Thanks for the birthday card, Porter!]

[Saying "Goodbye"]

Sunday, August 11:

The next morning Josh took Luke, Andie, Porter, and Kenna to Midway airport so they could fly home to Utah. While Mom, Dad, and Brodee headed to O'Hare to catch their flight to Dallas. My parents decided to stay a week in Dallas to see my Aunt Heidi and her family.

Ryan, Tyson, Missy, Josh, and I made sure the house was all cleaned up and in order before we headed our separate ways. I just want to thank everyone for letting me highjack your summer vacations! I love having the family together and I am excited to see everyone again in Cancun for Christmas!

[After we got home I found this puzzle. I'm thinking we can tackle it over Christmas!]

When we got home, Josh decided to change his look! I think he looks great!
