Therapy, School, ENT, and COLD

On Monday, February 1st, Theo threw up. I just had to point this out because he has not throw up (besides his hospital stay - anesthesia and antibiotic) since October 9th, 2020! Right?! That's HUGE news! This kid use to throw up DAILY! This is a huge victory!

Tuesday, February 2nd, is Groundhog Day. And yes, of course, we have six more weeks of winter.

[It is going to get very white and very cold!]

Theo went to OT and he has been doing really well with his increased schedule. It helps that he LOVE Ms. Laura!

Holiday is trying to take away Mr. Pibb from their gas stations! My sister-in-law is furious, so we are sending them messages trying to get them to keep it! UGH!

On Wednesday, February 3rd, Theo and I headed back down to Peoria for a check in with the ENT. We did ear drops for two weeks, but Theo still has some gunk in that right ear.

[Theo didn't like the doctor looking in his ear]

The ENT determined that Theo needs to have his right ear tube replaced. They also took a culture of the gunk in his ear and it is a bacterial infection. Theo will be on an antibiotic AND more ear drops for another two weeks. The doctor informed me that the audiologist want to do another ABR on Theo. I told him that would be fine as long as they did the ear tubes and the ABR back to back while he was under anesthesia. There is no reason to put him under anesthesia just for an ABR.

[Learning]

That night we made a snow volcano. It was cold so we did it right out the back door.

[It was a little anticlimactic]

We had to send in a picture of "10 things" for the 100th day in school. Theo insisted that we send in a picture of his Star Wars stuffed animals. I agreed!

On Thursday, February 4th, I took Theo to OT. He has been sitting so nicely!

After we got home from OT, I put Theo down for a nap and I went into the basement to work out. When I came upstairs an hour later it was snowing like crazy!

I carefully drove Theo to school, but on the way we saw a car accident at the intersection of Bell and McEvilly. That intersection has a blind turn and it is so scary!

On Friday, February 5th, we saw Ms. Becca again for PT.

Theo started talking to Baby Yoda and it was the cutest thing ever! They speak the same language!

That afternoon Ms. Jen came over for feeding therapy. Theo is moving forward very slowly, but we don't want to push him too hard. He is playing with food, is fine looking at food or seeing us eating food, and will not gag if food gets in his mouth. Trust me, this is all improvement. Slow and steady.

On Sunday, February 7th, the wind chill was -25 and we did not leave the house. We ordered pizza and wings from Giordano's and watched the Super Bowl. Seeing Tom Brady win again was dumb.

Josh also learned that work would be shutting down next week because it will be too cold for the concrete plants to open, so they will not be able to work. That's fine with me! He has a long "honey-do list" to work on!
