Let's Do This! Welcome 2022!

My New Years resolution to write in cursive. I think I can do that.

The Neilson grandkids in December 2017 (Ohio) vs December 2021 (Florida). Our family had grown quite a bit!

Our last week of 2021 was good. We were all feeling better, so Theo was able to have therapy and go to a doctors appointment.

On Tuesday, December 28th, we finally got our snow! But of course, it was on the day that we had to drive to Peoria for Theo's Urology appointment. We left with plenty of time and the roads were very slick for the first 45 minutes.

We made it to the hospital in time (30 minutes early) and Josh took Theo into his Urology appointment. The doctor did a quick exam and determined that Theo needs a bilateral orchiopexy. The doctor said it was a quick procedure and most kids don't even need to stay the night in the hospital. He told Josh that Theo would benefit from this procedure because having the testicles in the scrotum (where they should be) makes them easier to examine. Since Theo is at a higher risk for cancer, this would be very beneficial. Josh told the doctor that the ENTs also want to do a procedure on Theo and it would be great if they could coordinate. He said that was a great idea and they would call the ENT. This way Theo will only have to go under anesthesia once for these procedures! YAY!

[Theo is being silly and tickling me]

We were not planning on leaving the house for New Years and the weather forecast made us feel good about that decision. We were expecting 6-8 inches of snow over New Years weekend, so before the snow got here we ran to Costco and Jewel to stock up on supplies (aka yummy food).

On New Years Eve we watched the new Beatles documentary. If you are a Beatles fan or a good human being, you need to watch it!

[Gotta love Paul!]

Theo and Josh even enjoyed watching (and listening)!

We didn't watch the whole thing on New Years Eve, but we were able to finish it a few days later. Seriously, we are blessed to have their music. I could listen to Paul play the piano forever!

We ended up only getting a few inches of snow. That's fine with me!

On New Years Day, we watched the Tournament of Roses Parade, the Rose Bowl (down with Utah!), and the 20th Anniversary Harry Potter Anniversary special (I cried two minutes into it).

[I'm pretty sure I had something to do with Utah losing!]

[Theo listening to his new Tonie]

Did you know Josh is a Packers fan? Did you know that his dad is also a Packers fan? Did you know that George has NEVER been to a Packers game?! There is no better way to see the Packers then at Lambeau Field in the winter!

Josh drove north and met his dad in Green Bay to watch the Packers take on the Vikings during Sunday Night Football (January 2nd). Temperature at kickoff was 5 degrees, but the guys were ready and had plenty of layers!

[I think I can see Josh and George!]

HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope this is a great year for everyone!
