Theo Gets Nurses & I Get Ready For Vacation

Monday, March 31st:

Josh got home from Alaska on Saturday morning, spent the weekend fixing his Jeep, and then headed to work on Monday morning. The guy is just non stop!

Poor Theo has been really gassy lately and is having some tummy troubles. He was on Kate Farms Pediatric Peptide 1.5 for a long time and then we switched him to Kate Farms Pediatric Peptide 1.0, but the volume was just too much. We then switched him to Kate Farms Pediatric Standard 1.2, but after a couple of weeks Theo started to get really constipated. I talked to his Dietitian and we thought it would be a good idea to put him back on Kate Farms Pediatric Peptide 1.5.

On Monday I sent a message to Theo's GI Specialist to see if we could switch formulas... again.

Before Theo went to school he was playing with his current BFF, Rollin' Rovee. Unfortunately, Theo became really gassy and threw up right on Rollin' Rovee and his beautiful orange hair. I tried to wash it all out, but I decided to just cut it.

[Now he has a mohawk - I hope Theo doesn't mind!]

After school I took Theo to OT with Ms. Laura. He was so happy to see her!

Theo had 12 observable seizures today.

Tuesday, April 1st:

Today was pretty crazy! I kept Theo home from school since we had the "Admissions Group" from Maxim coming to the house for orientation. But first the cleaning ladies were coming over. It's best to just get out of their way, so I set up an area in the basement where Theo could hang out while I worked in the office. After the cleaning ladies were done cleaning we went back up stairs and got ready for the team from Maxim to come over.

At 11:00 AM, Ms. Jess, Nurse Tracey (RN), Alex (Maxim Recruiter), and Melissa (Admissions) came over. The purpose of the gathering was to get Ms. Jess and Nurse Tracey set up to work with Theo through Maxim. Nurse Tracey is going to be Theo's nurse at school for the rest of the school year on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. And Ms. Jess is going to be able to be Theo's nurse at home whenever we need her. There is also another nurse, Monika, who will be Theo's school nurse on Wednesdays. She wasn't able to come today, but she will be doing her training and onboarding with Ms. Jess on Saturday.

The training and onboarding was a really long process and at 2:00 PM I had to take Theo to PT. I told Nurse Tracey, Melissa, and Ms. Jess that they could stay at our house as long as they need in order to finish orientation 😊 Once the nurses complete their background checks they will be able to go to school with Theo.

After PT we met up with Josh at The Legacy Ranch for Theo's lesson with Sherman and Ms. Kaylin.

Theo did REALLY well!

Wednesday, April 2nd:

Theo went to school and Josh went to work. We had a severe weather day, so after school we Zoomed with Ms. Jen and Ms. Jeannine for therapy.

[At least they are wearing suits, right?! 🤣]

Thursday, April 2nd:

I sent Theo to school and I went to run a few errands. I got the oil changed and the ramps serviced on the van and I got my allergy shots.

Ms. Jess sent me this picture of her and Theo. When he is playing his games he likes to put his hand on her shoulder. I think it's so sweet!

Theo wasn't feeling well by the time school got out, so I cancelled OT and decided to keep him home from school on Friday.

Friday, April 4th:

Josh was able to stay home with Theo so I could go get a hair cut. I also got a treatment known as a "Japanese Head Spa." The treatment takes about 45 minutes and consists of a rotation of warm oil treatments, head massages, and wearing a moisture cap. It was delightful!

Weekend:

On Saturday, Ms. Jess and Nurse Monika came over to watch Theo and do Monika's orientation while I went and got my eyelashes done. After that I joined a Zoom with my fellow Changing Spaces Campaign leads. It's so great to hear from all of them and all the progress they are making!

I spend all day Sunday packing and getting ready for my trip to Asia! I can't believe it's finally here! I was able to FaceTime with Luke and Ryan for a while. The next time I see Luke will be in LA and the next time we see Ryan will be in Tokyo!

We also decided on an official name for our trip:

I fly out to LA tomorrow night and I won't be home until midnight on April 30th! Be sure to follow me on Facebook and IG, so you can see our adventures in real time. See you next month!
