EPIC Neilson Family Trip to Disney World - Part IV: Hollywood Studios Double Date and Lightsaber Building

The next day was the one I was looking forward to the most! We were going on a double date to Hollywood Studios with Luke and Andie AND Luke and I had reservations to build lightsabers that night!

Thanks to mom and dad for watching the kids! It seemed like they had a fun day and Theo LOVES to watch the kids swim and, turns out, he thinks it's hilarious when they make big splashes!

[Such a showoff!]

We arrived at Hollywood Studios before rope drop and headed straight to Rise of the Resistance! I won't spoil anything for you, but it is such a fun ride and is absolutely worth the wait!

[Oh no! The First Order!]

We were also able to ride Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway, Tower of Terror (one of my favorites!), and the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster.

We then made our way to Toy Story Land to ride Slinky Dog Dash.

After that we made our way back into Galaxy's Edge. This time we got to experience it from the front entrance instead of sneaking in the back like we did earlier to get on ROTS.

We got Blue and Green Milk! I definitely like the Blue Milk better.

After exploring Galaxy's Edge we went on Smugglers Run. It was so much fun! There are six people on the ride together and each of you has a job to do. Andie and I were the pilots and because we had a great team we were able to complete the mission and got props from Hondo!

After Smugglers Run we went and had dinner at Docking Bay 7. We got a Ronto Wrap, Smoked Kaadu Pork Ribs, and Chicken Tip Yip! Everything was delicious!

At 8:00 PM we headed to Savi's Workshop to build our lightsabers.

We first picked our category. Luke chose "Peace and Justice" and I chose "Protection and Defense."

We were then lead into the workshop where we were instructed on how to build our lightsabers.

First, we chose our cyber crystal and then we started building our hilts.

[Got my crystal in]

Sadly, I don't remember the name of the gentleman that lead us, but he was AMAZING! He would instruct us and then he came over to each person to make sure they didn't need any help. He was so kind and was such a great character!

[Examining my work and making sure everything was aligned]

[He approved!]

[Luke's finished hilt]

[My finished hilt]

After we made our hilts the helpers came around and inserted them into shafts where the saber part would be connected. Then we turned them on and everyone raised them together!

It was so cool and emotional! I'm so glad I got to experience this with Luke!

After building our lightsabers we went outside and took pictures in front of the Millennium Falcon.

Thanks so much to Josh and Andie for coming along, taking pictures and videos, and for humoring us!

We then went to Don-Ondar's Den of Antiquities where we could buy additional cyber crystals and holocrons. It was such an awesome shop!

[Ronto Roasters]

We ended the night by walking through the rest of the shops. I bought a Batuu pin for my map and then we headed home.

Thanks everyone for such a fun day! This was my first time at Hollywood Studios (third time at Disney World) and it was definitely worth the wait!
